Quarry Hill Nature Center

Quarry Hill Nature Center Adventures

Located within 300 acres of rural park lands in Rochester, MN, Quarry Hill Nature Center is home to over 50 species of animals, a 1,700 gallon fish tank, an indoor bee hive, a children's library, and a bird watching room. Explore paved and natural hiking trails, as well as a restored prairie, a quarry, sandstone caves and a pond for outdoor recreation. In the winter, enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing with rental gear in the park.

  • Where can I find a map of the Quarry Hill Nature Center?
    Visitors can view and print out all maps for the nature center and trails online at https://www.qhnc.org/visit/maps.html. You can also pull them up on your smartphone while at the park for easy access.
  • What exhibits are at Quarry Hill Nature Center?
    Quarry Hill Nature Center features an Exploration Hall filled with over 35 varieties of animals and a 1700-gallon aquarium that is home to seven varieties of fish, and a Saw whet owl. Get hands-on fun while learning about different turtles, snakes, frog, birds, and fish. There is also a honeybee hive for an up close look at the internal operations of a real working honeybee colony.
